Source Codes
Typically, a source code consists of several characters that identify the eldger or subledger where a transaction originates and several characters that identify the type of transaction. A number of source codes are provided for you.
Using the General Ledger/Configure/Source Codes window, you can add your own source codes at any time. You can also press F9 in a source code field or click <new> in the source codes drop-down list toopen the source codes window, where you can review existing source codes and create a new one by entering the code and a meaningful description.
Use the Source Codes window as well to control summarization by Source Code on the General Ledger Activity report.
You can print data on some reports for all source codes or for a single source code. Check All or uncheck All and select the appropriate source code form the drop-down list.
