Editing or deleting a posted general journal entry

You should reverse the mistaken transaction(s), making certain to post the reversal to the exact same financial period and transaction date. You can include comments on the transactions that explain why they have been entered.
Once you're reversed the mistake, re-create the transaction(s) correctly; again making certain to use the exact same financial period and transaction date.
